Portfolio case study · Corporate learning · Articulate Rise
A fictional workplace training sample that helps people check AI-generated client communications before sending them.
The performance goal
Given an AI-generated email and an approved project brief, learners decide which claims are supported, which assumptions need revision, and which details are appropriate to share with a client.
The design process
The design began with a concrete task: reviewing a client status email. A fictional company, Northstar Studio, provides a consistent setting, branded communications, and project guidelines learners can consult as they make decisions.
- Start with a decision. “Would you send this?” introduces a plausible draft containing an unsupported promise, an unclear request, an age-based assumption, and internal account information.
- Teach through guided practice. Four habits—build a useful prompt, verify claims, review for bias, and use editorial judgment—each pair an explanation with a two-option question and corrective feedback. The project guidelines remain available as a reference.
- Support transfer. A concise checklist summarizes the four habits for use on future drafts.
- Apply the process to a new project. Learners choose a suitable prompt, then select email sentences for Taylor’s onboarding portal using a new brief. The interaction assembles their selected sentences into an email and provides feedback before completion.
Design and development
Built in Articulate Rise with custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript interactions developed through an AI-assisted workflow and iterative human review. The visual design combines navy and teal branding, desk imagery, readable reference documents, and typewriter-style email text. Revisions focused on visible navigation, concise instructions, consistent source documents, and alignment between practice and assessment.
This is a portfolio demonstration using fictional clients and project details. It demonstrates the learning experience and assessment design; it does not claim measured workplace or learner outcomes.
